Q: What do I need to do if
I want to sign on as a Lightyear distributor today?
A:
Go to About Us and click on one
of the
"Join the Tribe" links to the right of the Tribe Members' photos. When
the new window opens, click the
"Sign Up Now!" button and follow the instructions to enter your personal information and pick a site (or business) name.
- You choose whether you will be an LLC or a Sole Proprietor, and then follow the prompts through the process.
- It costs just $49.99 to open your own virtual cell phone store.
- When you sign up online, and enter your credit card or debit card information,
you will immediately be given your Rep ID Number.
- You can then access the back office, including your virtual secretary and all the tools you need to set up and run your business over the internet.
Q: If I want supervision or assistance in setting up my account, is there help available?
A: Absolutely! You'll be able to call our administrative office and get one-on-one
assistance. We can help set up your account by phone. We can either fax or download the application to you.
However, this process takes a little longer than signing up on line, generally 3 days.
Q: As I sign up, are there any add-on offers to the basic membership. If so which should I sign up for?
A: The two offers which you should accept are:
- Fire your current wireless carrier and switch to Lightyear wireless service, our sole core principle.
- Sign up for a subscription to
Extraordinaire, our monthly marketing magazine.
- The simple reason for this is that Extraordinaire is an
excellent sales tool, something to put into someone's hand when you first meet with them so they can read the whole story for themselves.
- Extraordinaire is a bi-lingual publication, half in English and half in Spanish.
- While the magazine is not the only tool in our kit, but it is an awesome bridge to the desired end-result, enrolling new members.
- You also earn residuals and customer points from your magazine
subscription, as well as from sales
to your distributors, so it's a money-maker for yourself and everyone on your team as well.

Q: But I already have a cellular phone contract that will cost me money to get out of. Why
should I want to switch to Lightyear now?
A: You should consider an early termination fee as part of the
initial costs to open a new business.
- If you have to break an existing cell phone contract, the most it should cost is $175.00
for a relatively new account.
- Older accounts will be prorated and cost less to get out of.
- Most fees would be placed on the credit card on file with the carrier,
so there should be no immediate out-off-pocket costs.
If you owned a Shell Gas Station, would you run down the street to the Amoco to fill your gas tank? No, you wouldn't do that. You would use your own gas.
That's what we're asking you to do.
You have made the decision, and the commitment, to be a Lightyear Wireless Cell Phone Store operator. You
will want to use your own Lightyear service as a sales tool, so you can tell people what the service is like, what the process is like,
and what the benefits of switching to Lightyear Wireless are.
A few of the benefits of using Lightyear Wireless service include:
- Eligibility to receive residual income on the use of your cell phone.
- Residual commissions from the cell phone bills of people you
recruit to join your "Tribe".
But, ultimately, it's your decision. There is no requirement that you use the
Lightyear Wireless service, but it just makes sense from a marketing standpoint.. It's your business, so you get to make the decisions. It's what you want to invest in yourself that's the question.

Q: Are there any other things you would recommend signing up for at this time?
A: Other than the magazine, which as I mentioned is an excellent sales tool,
no others at this time.
